Killing time in a departures lounge.

So I guess it’s safe to now say that I’m on the way to George to say goodbye to a few friends. Some guys I know are going to the UK for a year or two and they’re having a party tonight in George, I decided to go down to George to see them off…

This post is coming from the departures area of Capetown Airport. I got here early after hearing various horror stories about how busy the airport was and the construction causes massive delays, So I arrived 2hours early.. slightly over done.

The construction hasn’t caused that much of a delay if you’re just being dropped off, in fact it may actually be better than it was. It is a 5-10minute walk from the drop off point to the departures lounge. (depending on what route you take through or round the new parking garage. Yes I was stupid and went round when I could’ve gone through… oh well there’s always next time.) What was a bigger problem was trying to find a place to sit once you’ve checked in… but after wandering up and down typing a very long email to a friend on my cell phone I finally found a seat and could sit down… because I still have about 45minutes to go till I have to board my plane I decided to haul out the notebook and write a post to kill the time.

And well that is what this is…

For the first time I got my wifi to work, my company supplied email account is hosted with Mweb and after a little bit of fiddling I got connected to the Wifi hot spot and logged in. I’m beginning to really enjoy traveling it’s fun, especially if you like “people watching”… although there are down sides to traveling alone like no one to chat to about everything thats going on… but it’s better to have no one than to no travel.
